Statement
This is the project that I started developing during my residency in Edimburgh, for the Stills Center for photography. I’ve focused my attention on the atmosphere of misplacement and kind of mystery. I tried to create a journey through these images in which shapes mingle, change and lose their original meaning to become something else, chasing a presence that you can feel but that’s never expressed.
This wants to be the representation of a disturbance somethin’s that’s changing and that still has no shape, but lingers, suspended. These sensations are conveyed also through the set up of the photos, in which the represented objects are transformed into new abstract objects.

Ho iniziato a sviluppare questo progetto durante la mia residenza ad Edimburgo, presso il Centro per la fotografia Stills. Mi
sono concentrata sull’atmosfera di estraneità e mistero che mi circondava costantemente mentre ero lì.
Ho cercato, quindi, di creare un viaggio, fatto di immagini, in cui le forme si confondono, cambiano il loro significato originale
per diventare qualcos’altro; inseguendo una presenza che si può percepire, ma che non è mai espressa. L’opera vuole essere
la rappresentazione di un disordine, qualcosa che sta cambiando e che non ha ancora preso forma, ma che rimane sospeso
nell’aria, saturandola. Queste sensazioni sono accentuate anche grazie all’allestimento verticale delle foto, in cui gli oggetti
rappresentati si trasformano in rappresentazioni quasi astratte.
